Favorite Christmas Toys Over The Years
In February of 2011, Allie Townsend, of Time Magazine, wrote an article that outlined some of the most popular Christmas toys over the decades. It brought back a lot of memories of the toys I played with as a kid and the ones I've bought for my own kids. Below, I list some of those that I recall and think you might remember as well.
Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus.
In 1897, the above letter to the editor of the The New York Sun, by eight year old Virginia O'Hanlon, influenced one of the most memorable responses and still serves as a reminder of the childhood spirit of Christmas. Below is a copy of the response from editor, Francis Church.

Living in Alabama all my life, I thought I would have come across that interesting holiday tidbit earlier than now. That made me think, "What other interesting facts and traditions about Christmas do I not know?"
