The wait is over as high school football returns this Friday, August 21st. The headline game for our area is the Dothan Tigers hosting the Navarre Raiders. Last year, the Tigers traveled to Navarre on a Halloween Friday night and lost a fast paced game to the Raiders, 49-24. The Raiders look to again have a talented, well-coached team. Dothan Coach, Kelvis White, said they have two very good running backs that may prove to be some of the best they will see this year. The Tigers are looking to improve upon a good year that had them going 6-6 and hosting a first round state playoff game last year against Oxford. The Tigers return some key skill players this year and also have great size on both the offensive and defensive lines. With that, Coach White, hopes to put a more physical team on the field this year.Coach White also wanted to emphasize that this is not a season opening jamboree game. It's week one and it's for real. Therefore, he asks all Tiger fans to come out to Rip Hewes stadium on Friday night and support the Tigers. This will be a great game to get the season started. Kickoff is at 7:00.
