On Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., Landmark Park will
celebrate National Watermelon Month with a watermelon harvest and
sampling. Over 1200 varieties of
watermelons are grown in the world. Landmark Park will harvest and sample Moon
and Stars, Black Diamond, Charleston Gray, Crimson Sweet and Jubilee. Come meet
the watermelon queen, collect some great recipes and taste amazing, crisp, and
cool watermelon.
The educational program and the watermelon are free with paid gate
admission, which is $4 for adults and $3 for kids and free for park members.
Landmark Park, home of the Alabama Agricultural Museum, is a 135-acre
historical and natural science park located on U.S. Highway 431 North in

I am so pleased to know about this watermelon tasting event. Even I didn’t know that there are more than 1200 varieties of watermelon until I attended the watermelon tasting festival at the local New York city party and event venue. It was amazing to attend that event!
