Azalea Dogwood Trail Today

We are seeing the first signs of Spring as the temperatures rise and the flowers and trees begin to bloom. And as Spring arrives, so does Dothan's Azalea Dogwood Trail.  This will be the 51st year of this annual event, as visitors from near and far make the pilgrimage to view the beauty of Dothan's historic neighborhoods in full bloom.

The Azalea Dogwood Queen, Princess and Maid of Honor will join Mayor Mike Schmitz today in the ribbon cutting ceremony, beginning at 1:50 PM, held at the corner of Woodland and Main Street.  Following the ceremony, the Queen and her court will lead the parade of cars through the 7-mile trail to view the beauty of Spring in Dothan, as ladies fill the lawns in their antebellum gowns to wave and greet each car.
The Trail is sponsored each year by the City of Dothan and The National Peanut Festival and has been the traditional welcoming of Spring to the city.
